In the region of Northern Iraq, a team with Transformation Health Network is working to assist the University of Kurdistan Hewler to establish a Family Medicine Program and to develop the faculty clinics for the school. We are also exploring ways to help strengthen the University Hospital. This is done through volunteer workers who have been teaching and training with the Department of Health and the University.

THN has already been working in the region and has served the Zeravany/Peshmerga forces of the Kurdish region with medical care, refugee care and health education through more than 30 short term trips to the area since 2005. The long term goal in the area is to come along side the leaders of the Kurdish region to improve systems of healthcare and to demonstrate a holistic approach to health that incorporates Biblical models of medical care.

We are looking for partner organizations and individuals with a heart for this region who can help expand this work.
